The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) provides expertise, resources, and a voice to its member coalitions across the country and represents each community at the national level. As a "coalition of coalitions," NBCH spreads the tenets and practical applications of Community Health Reform to areas where employers have yet to organize their purchasing power. For six years, NBCH has pursued national purchasing initiatives to offer turn-key health e products and services to community coalitions and their member employers. The organization is dedicated to making the coalition movement the vehicle for meaningful change in the health care system throughout the United States.

When NBCH first started group purchasing on behalf of coalition and their member employers, the goal was to leverage collective numbers to obtain the best possible price and performance guarantees for select products. Although many coalitions have been independently engaged in this process at the local level, we want to provide options to those coalitions without the resources or volume to purchase products on their own. Currently we have five preferred products and an e-health education site for the employer and consumer.

A standardized process is followed in selecting these products, which typically involves a bidding and selection process overseen by the NBCH Strategic Diversification Unit (SDU) with final approval by the NBCH Executive Committee.

As a benefit of membership with NBCH, member coalitions have access to the following products, which can be offered to local employers. Using the leverage of our collective number of employees around the country, NBCH has been able to negotiate discounted prices and performance standards when buying preferred health care services and programs.
